Sheep and Woolly Resources

Events and news:

• 5th March 2002: I have reset the counter to "1" at 1800h, I think we were on just over three million hits before that. I am also renaming our occasional awards from the "baa.com" award to the "baa.net" award, backdated to 2001. Previous awards are of course known as the "baa.com" awards still.

  I have also mended the slide puzzle - Thanks Mr Richard.

• 16th October 2001: I have finally changed the sheep and the wool pages so that they are in in reverse date order - I may even be able to maintain them now!

• 4th October 2001: Much as I liked the old page format, it was getting far too difficult to maintain and read so I have separated it into a few different sections. Next time I get motivated, I will put the pictures on these in reverse date order (newest first, that is) so anything I add new will be at the top. This should make the whole thing a lot neater!
  I am still not goign to be drawn into any of this new fangled web design stuff though so you Netscape 1.2 fans shouldn't worry - Everything should still work.

• 28th September 2001: After a lengthy and exepensive court case, the baa.com domain was lost to the British Airports Authority who claimed that this sheep site was "passing off" as their company, and that they had sole rights to the "baa.com" domain name. I am not going to say any more about this and we will just carry on with the sheep site on baa.net as it is now. Thanks to Tom Bourke for making the required technical twiddles to bring this back.

• 6th December, 1999: The Welsh government has announced that in order to try and boost the flagging sheep farming industry a study was being carried out on the viability of using sheep for meat and wool production.

• 1st December, 1999: I reset the front page counter, it was at 534397 having been reset earlier this year. Just interesting to see how it grows.

• 27th October, 1999: We have a new toy! Visit our Sheep and Woolly things shop. There is some very strange stuff on there! Alas, this closed down!

• 23rd Sept, 1999: We decided to remove the front page, and concentrate on other ways of paying our way. Sooo, we are looking for ideas! So far we have come up with having our own woolly jumper made and selling it on the site, and also, an "adopt a sheep" scheme, where you can adopt your very own Shetland wool sheep. • 14th Sept, 1999: The person who owns the rights to these sites has insted that we take on some advertising! Baa.net has long been the best sheep and wool site on the net and the costs of keeping it going are shooting up and up. I have tried to partner with useful sites so hopefully, some of you will actually visit them and keep us alive! The banners are nicely tucked away at the bottom of the page - Most of you will visit these places anyway so why not visit them through us!

• 29th July 1999. We made the press... The Evening Standard printed this jolly little article in the Business section.

• 17th May, 1999. New site! - The person who controls this domain is throwing us out and making us live on http://www.baa.net/ instead - Although it is nice to have accidental visitors looking for Athletics and Airports, it is a bit of a killer on bandwidth. So please, if you have any bookmarks or links to this site, change them to the .net address. Thanks to Clo for the new logo! (Note: http://www.baa.com will no longer work!).

• Coming soon: Australian Soap stars in wool... An "expose". Watch this space!

• Stop Press: 23rd April, 1998. Dolly, our beloved clone sheep mascot has given birth to a cute little fluffy lamb called Bonny.

• [12th April 1998] Hope you like the new look page. Thanks to Shae McKean and Claudelle Girard for the new graphics. You can say nice, or bad things in the guestbook.

• [July 1997] We are about to announce a competition for the best sheep or jumper related JAVA game, the prize (if we can arrange it) will be our old mascot, Kerry's very own jumper as seen pictured below. Watch this space!
